Carter County Drug Prevention offers services for the prevention of tobacco, alcohol and prescription drug use in youth through multiple programs in a collaborative, flexible and supportive workplace.
Description of duties & responsibilities:
Assist to coordinate coalition events and activities, including training, coalition communication, data collection, and information dissemination.
Assist with recruitment, screening process(es), trainings, mentor/mentee matches and supervision of the volunteer mentors.
Assist with creating and maintaining human resource files for all mentors
Assist to market & publicize programs
Create, develop and disseminate “Carter Connects” community newsletter, highlighting community resources and successful matches
Plan and staff quarterly (or more) mentor/mentee engagement sessions
Assist in planning training opportunities for mentors and mentees
Provide recognition to mentors and mentees on important dates and program anniversaries
Other duties as required or developed by funders or the coalition
Skills & knowledge preferred for position:
Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
Prior experience in public speaking.
Prior experience in facilitating group sessions/trainings.
Prior experience in working with youth & other community stakeholders to plan, implement, evaluate, & support services, programs & organizations.
Exceptional organizational & planning skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, multiple deadlines & schedules, with attention to detail.
Computer experience working in the Microsoft & Google Docs environments including: Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, Windows, Outlook & Internet Explorer and others.
Experience in utilizing social media formats.
Clean driving record
Knowledge of county and its people
Amount of travel:
Local travel daily
Travel to trainings &/or conferences biannually

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $9.00 - $10.00 per hour
To keep our staff and community as safe as possible, we allow a degree of remote work to the comfort level of the staff member, provide programs virtually when possible, take temperatures upon entry and have increased cleaning efforts.
