Our 4000+ staff and fleet, plant, and equipment underpin our service delivery.We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Drainage Assistant to join our team working out of our Bristol Depot. You will work alongside experienced engineers to carry out surveys of drainage systems, learn how to assess conditions, identify defects, and support maintenance and repair strategies. This is a permanent full-time role, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.About the Role Location: BristolHours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per weekSalary: £13.00 per hourBenefits Enhanced overtime rates21 days holiday + bank holidaysLife Assurance schemeAuto enrolment pension schemeOngoing training and professional developmentOpportunity to work with a leading water utility networkAs a Drainage Assistant, You Will Communicate with customers about scheduled works and address any concernsAssist in identifying drainage issues, including blockages, structural defects, infiltration, and root ingressOperate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear drains, sewers, and pipeworkRemove waste materials and prevent build-up in wastewater systemsPerform routine equipment checks and maintenance to ensure readinessSupport CCTV inspections to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewersAssist in emergency response situations, including flooding and urgent drainage issuesLearn to complete job sheets, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS) under supervisionAbout You Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points)A strong interest in drainage, utilities, or civil engineeringA practical, hands-on approach and willingness to work outdoors in all conditionsGood communication and teamwork skillsBasic computer skills and a desire to learn new softwareAbout Lanes At the Lanes Group, we believe firmly in looking after our people and our customers.
