Highway Engineer - Contract£30 per hour | 6-Month Contract | Hybrid Working - Predominantly Site BasedA great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highway Engineer to support a busy programme of highways maintenance and surface dressing works. This is a delivery-focused, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working on-site, managing schemes independently, and driving works through from assessment to completion. You will play a key role in preparing and delivering maintenance schemes across the highway network, ensuring works are accurately scoped, packaged, and supervised to a high standard.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver highways maintenance and surface dressing schemes on-sitePrepare and coordinate upcoming surface dressing programmesVisit and assess approximately 200 sites for patching worksMeasure works and produce structured contractor work packagesSupervise works on the highway network to ensure quality and complianceManage your own workload and prioritise site activities effectivelyLiaise with contractors and ensure works are delivered safely and efficientlyRequirementsProven experience within highways maintenance and site supervisionStrong understanding of road construction, surfacing, and surface dressing worksAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExperience measuring and marking out sites for deliveryBackground working with a highways contractor or within a public sector environment desirableFull UK driving licence preferredComfortable working predominantly on-siteThis is an excellent opportunity for a practical, field-based Highway Engineer seeking a long-term contract with autonomy and consistent workload.For a full description and further information on the role, please call Jason Kohle at Carrington West on 02393 876006.#J-18808-Ljbffr
