Technical WriterSalary: Up to £43,000 per annum (DOE)Location: Clevedon (Hybrid working available)Industry: Engineering / Technical Documentation / ManufacturingOverviewWe are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to produce and maintain high‑quality support documentation for engineering products manufactured in Clevedon and used globally across distributed manufacturing sites.This role will focus on creating clear, structured, and compliant technical documentation including upgrade instructions, service and maintenance procedures, installation documentation, and commissioning documentation for complex engineering products.You will work closely with engineers, subject matter experts, and internal stakeholders to ensure documentation is accurate, user‑friendly, and aligned with company and industry standards.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical DocumentationPlan, research, write, and edit technical documentation from concept through to releaseProduce service, maintenance, installation, upgrade, modification, and commissioning documentationEnsure documentation aligns with company house style and quality standardsContent Accuracy & ClarityTranslate complex engineering information into clear and concise proceduresEnsure terminology, structure, and formatting remain consistent and easy to followGather technical information from SMEs, drawings, existing content, and direct product interactionVisual & Technical ContentCreate and manipulate technical images, illustrations, and photographs to support documentationSupport extraction and use of views from 3D models where requiredStakeholder CollaborationWork with engineering and technical stakeholders to review and verify documentationProofread and edit documents to ensure complete accuracy before releaseSupport knowledge sharing and documentation improvements across teamsCompliance & StandardsEnsure documentation complies with relevant industry standards and directivesMaintain document quality and adherence to internal documentation processesSkills & Experience RequiredDegree, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience in mechanical or electromechanical engineeringEngineering apprenticeship or forces engineering background also consideredMinimum 3 years' technical writing experience within an engineering environmentExperience writing service, testing, or maintenance procedures for complex productsExperience using Simplified Technical English (STE)Understanding of Microsoft Office and SharePoint 365Experience using image manipulation software such as CorelDrawAbility to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical diagrams accuratelyStrong organisational skills with excellent attention to detailAbility to work independently and communicate effectively with technical stakeholdersIn Return, You Will ReceiveFinancial & SecurityBonus up to 7.5% of basic annual salaryPension with company contribution of up to 8%Life assurance of 4 x basic salaryHealth & WellbeingCash health planThriving Wellbeing Programme supporting physical, mental, and social wellbeingDiscounted gym membershipsTime Off25 days holiday (excluding Bank Holidays)On‑site FacilitiesFree parkingAmple cycle storage, lockers, and showersSubsidised canteenDedicated wellbeing and prayer roomIf this role sounds of interest please click apply to send your CV, or contact Kirk at Pertemps, Bristol.#J-18808-Ljbffr
