The role involves working with the Project Team to allow projects to be delivered safely on time and to budget whilst ensuring high levels of client satisfaction whilst supporting the development of Assistants and Surveyors.ResponsibilitiesLead the production and management of cost plans, life cycle costing, cash flow forecasts and benchmarking using Cost‑X, BIM, and relevant data sourcesOversee procurement activities, including preparation of tender documentation, bills of quantities, pricing documents, procurement reports, and managing the full tender and evaluation processManage contract negotiations, prepare and collate contract documents, and act as a key client liaison throughout pre- and post‑contract stagesAdminister contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent, including issuing instructions, managing snagging, overseeing practical completion, and post‑contract dutiesManage post‑contract responsibilities such as interim valuations, cost reporting, change control, evaluation of variations, final accounts, and dispute resolutionContribute to and oversee risk registers, value engineering, and value management reportingSupport the Associate Director in fee bids, resource and fee management, reporting, and maintaining client relationshipsSupervise, mentor, and develop Assistant and Quantity SurveyorsEnsure accurate and timely updates to internal systems (e.g., Union Square, finance/resource trackers), and sign‑off of invoicesMaintain quality assurance standards and best practice procedures across all projectsUphold health and safety standards and support environmental and social impactCarry out additional duties in line with the role as requiredQualificationsIdeally Chartered accreditation with previous experience within the construction industry in a similar disciplineAbility to deliver larger and more complex projects through the whole project lifecycleExcellent experience‑based technical/project knowledgeAbility to delegate tasks to others within the team and support their workSupport junior members of the team with mentoring and developmentDevelopment of leadership and management skillsAbility to manage fees and assist with fee bidsGenerate new work through the management of client relationsAbility to work on own initiative to drive and generate new businessUnderstanding of the account management processAbility to analyse projects and report performance to line managerExcellent knowledge of internal systems and processes to advise and guide othersExcellent knowledge of CDM and construction Health & SafetyBenefitsEnjoy 33 days of holiday (including bank holidays), growing with an extra day after five years of service.An additional day off on your birthday.Health cover and benefits from day one and x 2 salary death in service coverage.Annual company bonus and salary review.A company pension.We cover membership fees for relevant professional bodies.Career development, chartership learning support and training opportunities to support your continuous growthFulkers Bailey Russell is now a Certified B Corporation, meeting high standards of social and environmental performance.
