Sr. Director

Responsible for supervision, management and operations of the assigned services and programs within the division.

Education: Bachelor's degree in mental health field required. Master's degree in mental health field preferred.

Licensure: Must possess or obtain highest level of licensure applicable to degree.

Certification: Must possess or obtain highest level of certification applicable to degree.

Experience: Experience in a relevant position preferred.

Knowledge/Skills: Verbal/written communication skills. Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations. Organizational skills.

Equipment: Computer, fax, copier and any other equipment required to perform the functions of the position.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Selects, trains, disciplines and evaluates performance of employees. Recommends pay adjustments for employees. Organizes and schedules employee work activities. Maintains a safe work environment by identifying and correcting potentially unsafe conditions and work practices. Maintains a positive working climate within and across departmental functions. Assist clinicians concerning clinical procedures and evaluation.

Major Duties and Responsibilities: Implement and assure adherence to FHI policies, procedures and guidelines as directed by Senior Vice President for all division service/supports systems to ensure cohesiveness with FHI mission, values, and operational policies. Participate in development of operational budgets and monitor to ensure accuracy, accountability, and adjustments as necessary. Cultivate, establish, maintain and enhance positive and effective working relationships with internal (FH) and external customers, including state/local funding sources, other service providers, support groups, community resources, etc. Oversee employee recruitment and development needs, including hiring recommendations to Senior Vice President, ensuring employee performance appraisals are completed, utilizes agency progressive disciplinary system as needed, and enhances opportunities for professional development and growth of all employees. Ensure Division is fully integrated with all FHI strategic initiatives, quality improvement efforts, community relations, and customer satisfaction efforts. Ensure all division services/programs are in compliance with licensure, quality enhancement, accreditation, and other external monitoring processes. In conjunction with Senior Vice President, continuously assess structure, effectiveness, and feasibility of all division service/programs and effect change as needed to ensure continued growth and positive impact/outcomes of the Division. In cooperation with Senior Vice President, pursue and evaluate, and when appropriate respond to RFP's and other business opportunity to enhance the development of services within the division. Keep the respective Senior Vice President's informed of both potential problem areas and outstanding performance. Responds calmly and appropriately in crisis situations, implementing effective therapeutic interventions and strategies. Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings and inservices and individual program planning staffings as needed. All other duties as assigned.
