This Maintenance Mechanic Leader, WL-4749-10 position works in the building maintenance/minor renovation unit in Engineering Service located on the campus of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Mountain Home, TN Health Care System. Serves as Maintenance Mechanic Leader and may provide maintenance, minor renovation, and repair of equipment and facilities at Mountain Home and in the Mountain Home catchment area.Major duties include but not limited to:* The incumbent completes maintenance work orders that are approved by the unit Supervisor.* The incumbent troubleshoots and performs repairs on various building systems as necessary to maintain normal clinic operations.* The incumbent serves as the first responder to second shift calls from facility administration for engineering assistance: Independently triages, troubleshoots, and repairs, or calls in additional resources, as necessary. Engineering assistance required can be of multiple trades, including, but not limited to, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.* The incumbent leads three or more workers to accomplish trades work.* The incumbent performs work alongside those employees led. The work unit is ·comprised of varying numbers of trades personnel at various grade levels to include: Locksmith, WG-10, Maintenance Mechanic (Carpenter/Painter), WG-09; and Painter, WG-09.* The incumbent consistently communicates and interacts with customers (e.g. Veterans, family members, the general public and other staff members) in a courteous, tactful and helpful manner.Work Schedule: Mon-Fri Dayshift Possible Other ToursPosition Description Title/PD#: Maintenance Mechanic Work Leader/PD60236A
