Position Summary

Position Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Representative supports daily warehouse operations, including palletizing, shipping and receiving, processing returns, and order processing. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company and regulatory requirements while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
  2. Prepare, package, and palletize outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy, safety, and timely delivery.
  3. Load and unload packages using proper equipment and safety procedures.
  4. Receive product deliveries and ensure associated paperwork is accurate.
  5. Inspect, process, and document returned products according to company guidelines.
  6. Input received products into database systems as required.
  7. Receive medical supplies/products from distributors or suppliers and arrange or place them in the warehouse based on organizational and departmental needs.
  8. Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders as directed by supervisor and per company policies. This includes packing, sealing, labeling, and affixing postage to medical supply orders using hand tools, scanners, and software tools.


Inventory Responsibilities
  1. Maintain organized storage of products.
  2. Identify and report inventory discrepancies to manager.


Warehouse Support
  1. Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse areas, including quarantine areas and palletizing zones.
  2. Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, rolling stairs, and scanners safely.
  3. Adhere to company policies, OSHA standards, and warehouse safety requirements.


Administrative Support
  1. Provide administrative support including data entry, record keeping, and communication tracking as needed.


Ancillary Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Participate in general warehouse maintenance and organization.
  2. Operate step ladders and hand trucks within safety specifications.
  3. Maintain a safe work environment according to department procedures.
  4. Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.


Reporting Relationship
  • No supervisory responsibilities


Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Experience
  • 1 to 2 years of Shipping or Receiving experience in a manufacturing or retail environment and/or inventory or warehouse clerical experience.
Skills
Math:
  • Intermediate math skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages.
Reasoning:
  • Ability to solve practical problems and work with a variety of variables.
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
Computer:
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software, Excel, Access, and/or other database software.
Telecommunications:
  • Ability to use or knowledge of call center telecommunications software.
Licensure / Certifications
  • No certifications required.
Work Requirement
  • Ability to work day shift, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

  1. Frequently required to walk, sit, kneel, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. Occasionally required to stand.
  2. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  3. Must be able to remain in a stationary standing position for extended periods.
  4. Frequent movement around the facility with consistent work activity.
  5. Occasionally operate a hand truck.
  6. Frequently use shipping tools such as tape guns, staplers, pens, packing inflation machines, and box cutters.
  7. Frequently ascend/descend and work on step ladders to pick customer orders and restock supplies.
  8. Occasionally move, transport, position, and place medical supply shipments weighing up to 50 pounds.
  9. Occasionally reach and position self to pull shipments from lower shelves or tight spaces.
  10. Must be able to inspect product packaging, serial numbers, identification text, and supplier information at short and long distances.
  11. Occasionally communicate with other departments regarding order status and exchange accurate information.


Work Environment
  • Work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment under normal office conditions.
  • Noise level is usually moderate.
  • Minimal exposure to hazards or physical risks.
  • Basic safety precautions are required.
