This is a part-time, remote opportunity for an experienced freelance Web Content Writer. The primary function of this role is to enhance and refresh existing draft copy for key public-facing website pages, including the homepage, music creators page, licensing page, and advocacy page, ahead of a major summer relaunch. The ideal Talent will possess strong SEO expertise and the ability to craft dynamic, active content that resonates with core audiences: the creative community and the licensees of the music catalog.

This position is integral to ensuring the website's content is engaging and effective, supporting the organization's mission to represent creative communities and music licensees.

Experience in the music or entertainment fields a plus.

3-4 week project, approx. 15 hours per week

Responsibilities:

  • Enhance and refresh existing draft web copy for key public-facing website pages (e.g., homepage, music creators page, licensing page, advocacy page).
  • Write dynamic, active, and engaging content tailored to specific audiences (creative community, music licensees).
  • Integrate SEO best practices into all web content.
  • Work effectively within predefined design confines and existing page layouts.
  • Collaborate closely with the Assistant Vice President of Content and Communications and the broader team.
  • Participate in regular check-in meetings (e.g., every other day for 15-20 minutes, weekly half-hour meetings).
  • Incorporate feedback and perform revisions efficiently to meet project goals.
  • Conduct a deep dive into the current website to understand existing content and tone.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Web Copywriter, with a strong portfolio showcasing dynamic web writing samples.
  • Demonstrated experience with website refreshes or redesign projects.
  • Expertise in SEO principles and application in web content.
  • Ability to write within defined design and layout constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort with continuous feedback and revisions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with quick turnarounds.
  • Background or strong interest in music, culture, or entertainment, enabling a tone that is not "dry and corporate."
  • Part-time availability (approximately 15 hours per week) with flexibility for meetings.
  • Experience working with existing draft content to amplify and improve it.
