Position Type: Part-Time

Average Hours: Fewer than 30 hours per week

Starting Wage: $18.00 per hour

Wage Increases: Year 2 - $18.50 | Year 3 - $19.00 | Year 4 - $19.00 | Year 5 - $20.00

Duties and Responsibilities:

You will be a crucial part of our team and will be responsible for the following:

  • Collaborating with team members and communicating effectively with your direct leader.
  • Maintaining security and confidentiality of documents and data.
  • Performing other assigned responsibilities as needed.

Cashier Responsibilities:

  • Processing customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the store.
  • Stocking shelves and arranging merchandise displays neatly.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service and aiding customers during their shopping experience.
  • Providing management with feedback regarding products, inventory losses, scanning errors, and any other general issues.
  • Participating in inventory counts and ensuring inventory accuracy.
  • Adhering to cash handling policies to reduce losses.

Stocker Responsibilities:

  • Stocking shelves and ensuring proper product rotation for freshness.
  • Following merchandising planograms for organized displays.
  • Organizing new inventory and managing packaging waste.
  • Operating machinery while prioritizing safety procedures.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk around the store.
  • Stockers must be able to lift and place products weighing up to 45 pounds onto shelves at various heights.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Strong customer service skills with a courteous demeanor.
  • Capability to perform general cleaning to meet company standards.
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Effective time management abilities.
  • Understanding of ALDI products and services.
  • Cashier: Proficient in cash register operations.
  • Cashier: Must comply with state and local laws for the sale of alcoholic beverages.
  • Stocker: Skilled in the safe and proper operation of equipment like hand jacks and floor scrubbers.
  • Stockers should have morning availability, with shifts starting as early as 5:00 a.m.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous retail experience is a plus.
  • A combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge is acceptable.
