What You Will Be Doing:
This position supports Alaska Native language preservation and literacy by providing administrative and program coordination support to the Council for Alaska Native Languages (CANL). The role includes supporting required reporting, conducting research, and helping develop resources that connect state policy with classroom and community practice. The position works closely with tribal organizations, educators, and internal department staff to support professional learning, strengthen partnerships, and help ensure Alaska Native language and literacy initiatives are aligned with statewide education goals, including the Alaska Reads Act.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:

  • This position can be located anywhere in the state. DEED has offices in downtown Juneau in the State Office Building.
  • The Anchorage office is located in downtown Anchorage in the Atwood Building. The position may work remotely and may be required to travel occasionally.
