Your Day

Responsibilities may include:

  • Flagging motorists to indicate construction or repair work ahead.
  • Setting up signage and cones to redirect traffic safely.
  • Operating trucks or tractors to clean streets, maintain landscapes, and manage snow removal.
  • Performing asphalt repairs and patching broken pavement.
  • Transporting crews and equipment to various work sites.
  • Inspecting drainage systems and other structures to ensure functionality.
  • Hauling materials such as sand and gravel to repair roads and shoulders.
  • Erecting and maintaining traffic safety infrastructure like guardrails and warning signals.
  • Clearing litter and debris from roadways and drainage structures.
  • Contributing to roadside landscaping tasks, including plant maintenance and clearing brush.
  • Painting and marking traffic control lines and messages.
  • Verifying proper installation of road markers.
  • Measuring and marking locations for installation projects.
  • Engaging in various physical activities such as climbing, lifting, and walking to perform job duties.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and using personal protective equipment.

You will need:

  • Certification and training in traffic control techniques.
  • A thorough understanding of safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Familiarity with construction and maintenance materials and methods.
