Fully-Remote Permit Coordinator

Join our team in supporting the EACAM design work, focusing on the deployment of fiber optic networks in rural areas. This initiative is funded by the Enhanced Alternative Connect America Model (Enhanced A-CAM or E-ACAM) program, established by the FederalCommunications Commission (FCC), to provide high-speed broadband to remote locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Draw permit polygons using DB621 and ensure ROW/COLO experience is applied.
  • Interpret existing fiber cable records, including staking sheets, as-builts, as-stake, PUE, easement, and ROW/COLO documents.
  • Submit all documents, staking sheets, and permit packets to applicable permitting entities.
  • Manage tracking systems and project management/coordination systems, storing permit-related documents and records in applicable systems.
  • Attend DB621 training, provide status updates, and participate in quality control review meetings.
  • Participate in all project meetings, provide updates, and engage in strategic planning calls with assigned data gathering or tracking information.
  • Work with municipalities to ensure design drawings meet requirements for permit applications and track all related processes.

Essential Skills:

  • 1+ year of experience as a permit coordinator or similar role in telecommunication/fiber projects (aerial and/or underground).
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills, capable of handling multiple documents, files, applications, and processes simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Excel for logging and tracking information.
  • Effective communication skills via email and phone with end customers and municipalities.
  • Ability to work remotely with a high degree of trust, ensuring work is completed efficiently and communication is consistent.
  • Competence in reading design drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in telecommunications, municipal operations, and construction.
  • Knowledge of fiber colocating and permit applications.

Work Environment:

This role offers a 100% remote work environment within a team of six coordinators and two leads dedicated to this project. Core hours are from 9 AM to 3 PM CST, with flexibility outside these hours to complete a 40-hour work week while meeting daily deadlines. You will receive all necessary hardware, including a computer, desktop, keypad, and mouse, to facilitate your remote work.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Chattanooga, TN.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
