Shopify Engineer Opportunity

Top skills: 10+ years of Shopify development experience, expert in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, skilled in customizing Shopify themes and extending functionality using Liquid.

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Shopify Engineer to lead the development,optimization, and maintenance of our Shopify e-commerce platform. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with design, product, and cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user experiences and drive the continued growth of our online business. This position reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain our Shopify storefront to ensure high performance, stability, and exceptional user experience.
• Implement custom Shopify themes in collaboration with the design team to deliver visually compelling and user-friendly interfaces.
• Customize and extend Shopify functionality using Liquid, custom scripts, and theme development best practices.
• Build and maintain Shopify apps, plugins, and integrations to expand site capabilities.
• Integrate and manage third-party apps to enhance feature sets and performance.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues related to Shopify and other web technologies.
• Conduct site audits to ensure quality, accuracy, and error-free functionality.
• Optimize site speed, responsiveness, and performance across devices.
• Stay current on Shopify platform updates, e-commerce trends, and industry best practices.
• Ensure site security and compliance with relevant standards.
• Work with the broader development team to integrate Shopify with other systems and applications.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of professional experience in Shopify development, including theme customization and app development.
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid.
• Solid understanding of e-commerce platforms, standards, and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
