Professional Summary

The Patient Access Representative plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients and caregivers by managing inbound calls, scheduling appointments, and processing referrals within the EPIC system. This position requires exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote environment. Representatives act as the first point of contact for specialty care services, providing accurate information and facilitating communication between patients and care teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound calls from patients, caregivers, and providers, delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Schedule appointments for specialty care services using EPIC and maintain provider templates and appointment schedules.

  • Process referrals and verify patient demographics and insurance coverage accurately.

  • Transfer calls to appropriate departments or send electronic messages to care teams as needed.

  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and protect patient health information at all times.

  • Adapt quickly to changing workflows and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills under pressure.

  • Participate in virtual training sessions and meetings with camera on, ensuring engagement and collaboration.

  • Meet performance standards for call handling, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Required:High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum 2 years of high-end customer service experience (e.g., hospitality or retail).

  • At least 1 year of call center experience.

  • Strong communication skills, quick thinking, and ability to manage stress effectively.

  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn new systems quickly.

  • Reliable internet connection (20Mb+ download, 8–10Mb upload) with hardwired setup.

  • Quiet, private workspace suitable for handling sensitive information.

  • Preferred:1 year experience in a medical office or administrative healthcare role.

  • Familiarity with EPIC or similar electronic health record systems.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Renton, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
