Job Summary

Responsible for performing a variety of skilled maintenance tasks, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and masonry, as well as other related duties as assigned.Must be able to work any shift or schedule. Overtime will be required as necessary. Facilities employees may be required to report at their regularly scheduled times during emergency closures or during inclement weather to perform essential functions, including snow removal duties.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of methods, materials, and procedures used in general repair and maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of machines, tools, and equipment used in a variety of tasks as required.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and appropriate safety precautions.
  • Skilled in the use, cleaning, repair, and maintenance of equipment, tools, and machinery.
  • Skilled in evaluating situations and making informed decisions.
  • Skilled in planning and organizing work efficiently.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions accurately.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in the use of materials and resources.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and supervisors
Required Qualifications
  • Successful completion of at least the tenth grade.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and facility maintenance, including a variety of skilled tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and masonry.
  • Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of vocational education.
  • 2 years of experience in trade services.
