Job Summary

The Web Content Coordinator manages the university's digital presence by publishing and maintaining website content, updating outdated information, and ensuring accuracy across all web properties. This role involves triaging and responding to content update requests from campus partners, auditing existing pages to identify inconsistencies and broken links, and archiving legacy content according to institutional guidelines.

The coordinator works collaboratively with departments across campus to keep website content current, accurate, and aligned with university brand standards and web governance policies. This position serves as a first responder for web update requests and ensures users can easily find the information they need through strategic content organization and optimization.

Additionally, this role supports accessibility compliance efforts and helps maintain a cohesive, user-friendly digital experience for all external audiences.

Please note this is a limited-term contract position of 36 months

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of CMS platforms (e.g., Modern Campus, WordPress, Webflow, etc.) for content creation, editing, publishing, and managing page structures.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, triage incoming requests, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with current best practices for web writing, content organization, user experience (UX), and digital archiving to ensure effective and sustainable content.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and correct inaccuracies, inconsistencies, broken links, outdated information, and other content-related issues across a large website.
  • Foundational knowledge of accessibility guidelines and principles to ensure web content is usable by individuals with different abilities.
  • Basic comprehension of how SEO impacts content visibility and the role of content in improving search rankings.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and an understanding of how AI affects website usage
  • Ability to adhere strictly to established institutional brand guidelines, voice, tone, and editorial standards for consistent messaging.
  • Experience creating clear, concise, and engaging web content tailored for external audiences.
  • Excellent ability to work effectively with diverse campus partners, technical teams, and non-technical stakeholders to gather information and ensure content accuracy.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new web technologies, content strategies, and digital marketing trends.
  • A service-minded approach when responding to and fulfilling content update requests from campus partners.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, IT, English, or related field
  • 1-2 years of experience working with websites or digital content
  • Familiarity with web content management systems (e.g., Modern Campus, WordPress, Webflow, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Basic understanding of accessibility, SEO, and editorial standards
  • Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a higher education environment
  • Familiarity with accessibility tools (Acrobat Pro, NVDA, WAVE, etc.)
  • Knowledge of digital archiving best practices
  • Understanding of writing for the web
