St Anne Catholic School is hiring for a Full Time Middle School ELA Teacher.

The Middle School ELA teacher works with the Principal and Leadership Team to carry out the educational policies of the diocese and has responsibilities that are professional, instructional, managerial, and interpersonal. Teachers are expected to facilitate the learning of each student, comply with school rules and policies, and provide for the safety of students. The teacher is hired and appraised by the Principal and is expected to abide by the established policies and procedures of St. Anne Catholic School, the Diocese of Richmond, particularly the Office of Catholic Schools.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Observe all school and diocesan directives, adhering to guidelines regarding curriculum.
• Prepare lesson plans that reflect clear objectives, effective procedures, and a range of activities to respond to individual differences.
• Evaluate the performance of students in a variety of ways that measure comprehension as well as oral, written, and performance skills as appropriate.
• Fulfill record-keeping requirements such as attendance, report cards, and progress reports.
• Maintain good relations with parents.
• Promote order and self-discipline in the classroom, at recess, at lunchtime, at arrival, and at dismissal time, upholding school regulations.
• Follow the approved procedures regarding the health and safety of the students
• Maintain high professional and ethical standards in all school-related activities.
• Participate in diocesan and school-sponsored activities
• Help ensure the school culture remains positive and loving towards all stakeholders.
• Foster Christian values and behavior among students.
• Promote the Catholic identity of the school through knowledge and respect for Catholic Tradition.

Requirements

Professional Qualifications:

• Must be licensed to teach your area of responsibility by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Must be comfortable managing groups of middle school students
• Education Degree and teaching license
• Experience working with middle school children

Benefits:

This position is full-time. and is eligible for all benefits as outlined in the Diocese of Richmond's Called to Work in Harmony including paid leave, medical and dental insurance, life insurance, and retirement benefits. This position is exempt from overtime regulations according to the Fair Labor Standards Act. If part-time, a lesser extent of benefits is afforded. Pay will be based on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year (based on experience)
