Summary:
The Market Director of Research will promote, expand, and manage research efforts within the defined markets of Ballad Health. This individual will contribute and execute Ballad's strategic research plan and work to manage and recruit current and new studies within the market. The market director will supervise research coordinators and engage in education and development of market personnel (including physicians, nursing, residents, students, and others interested in research). The market director will serve as a liaison with their affiliated academic institutions to facilitate research and create a culture of inquiry.
The market director will collaborate with Corporate Compliance, Medical Affairs, Patient Care Services and other departments as indicated to develop and implement research policies and procedures and will serve as the liaison with the Institutional Review Board. The Director will review proposed projects for compliance with Ballad policies, guide internal and affiliate researchers through the market to accomplish their project goals, and monitor the status of approved projects.
The Director will seek partnerships with external agencies and investigators to promote research that meets Ballad's mission and serves as a consultant for study design, protocol development, data collection, and analysis. The Director will facilitate education of Ballad Team Members and those in the region interested in the research process, and develop expanded research skills. She or he will conduct research within her or his area of expertise.
The market director will be responsible for supervision of personnel and assist in the budget process with the corporate director for research. The Director must be self-motivated, serve as a strong leader and coach, be a strong communicator, have ability to engage people and strong interpersonal skills, be committed to continual performance improvement, and assist Ballad in achieving quality recognition and accreditation.
Requirements:
The market director requires a minimum of 5 years in progressively responsible experience in healthcare or related field, including supervisory experience and experience with the research process. Masters, or other advanced degree in an appropriate clinical discipline is preferred.
