What does aN IT Specialist do?

As an IT Specialist with the City of Johnson City, you will perform crucial technical and coordination tasks to ensure the effective setup, maintenance, and replacement of personal computers (PCs) and their peripherals. Your role will involve establishing seamless communication between PCs and the central computer system, while also creating and maintaining IT databases and associated policies and procedures. You will coordinate the efforts of PC Support Specialists, ensuring that repairs, requests, and routine maintenance are executed promptly and efficiently. Your expertise will directly contribute to the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure, and you will play a vital role in keeping our technology environment robust and reliable.

To excel as an IT Specialist with the City of Johnson City, a comprehensive skill set is essential. Candidates must possess thorough knowledge of PC hardware and software, as well as a strong understanding of Microsoft's Windows Operating Systems and Office Processing systems.
