Postion Overview: The Assistant Director of Sales and Promotions is a full-time, twelve-month position with benefits, providing a hybrid role in ETSU Athletics Ticketing and Marketing. This position will serve as a part of the ticketing staff to generate revenue primarily by creating relationships via outbound/inbound phone calls and face-to-face meetings, with a concentration on group sales for all ticketed sports and assistance in retaining season ticket sales. These calls will be supplemented using emails and other marketing efforts. Working collaboratively with the marketing department and various offices, this position will also lead in writing game scripts for the ETSU Athletics Department and oversee game day operations.
Essential Functions: This position is a part of a team that provides daily execution for all areas of ticketing and marketing for ETSU Athletics, including, but not limited to: Sell season tickets, corporate packages, partial plans, group tickets, and other ticket products for all ticketed sports. Call current and past customers and cold-call new sales leads to generate revenue. Contact area businesses and individuals via phone, in-person appointments, and networking events to promote and sell ticket packages. Achieve and exceed weekly, monthly, and annual sales goals established by management. Design and implement marketing, branding, and messaging strategies that drive attendance, increase revenue, and enhance the fan experience and gameday atmosphere. Create and execute engagement strategies targeting both campus and community audiences. Work closely with ETSU Athletics' External Operations team to integrate revenue generation, ticketing, communications, broadcasting, and creative content into cohesive marketing and branding efforts. Oversee game day operations and staffing, ensuring a dynamic and engaging environment through effective game presentation elements such as scripts, promotions, music, video, cheer/mascot, and pep band. Develop and utilize data-driven analytics to inform marketing decisions. Collaborate with the media rights provider to deliver in-game promotions that entertain fans and fulfill sponsorship agreements. Lead all on-campus student marketing initiatives and assist with the supervision and development of the student marketing and operations team. Perform additional duties as assigned.
