Primary Function

Performs advanced engineering tasks with no direct supervision. Lead mentor to the engineering design team in development projects throughout the entire cycle from initial concept through successful completion.

Responsibilities

1. Manages all aspects of complex and significant engineering projects, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget.
2. Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and agency requirements.
3. Evaluate and approve product design changes and drawing releases.
4. Uses and applies advanced engineering principles within a particular field of specialization.
5. Identifies projects of value to the company.
6. User of CAE tools such as Solidworks, MATLAB, LabView, Minitab, EES, CFD, FEA.
7. Develops and applies engineering standards and procedures, and provides advice on issues within the engineering field.
8. Helps to effectively communicate technical material to internal business units.
9. Excellent analytical skills for reviewing costs and preparing budget reports.
10. Solid understanding of Company processes and customers, participates in functional best practices, and has recognized expertise by operations.
