The Assistant Treasurer role offers a unique opportunity for a skilled individual to play a pivotal role in managing the bank's financial strategy, risk management, and investor relations. This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), supporting critical areas such as asset/liability management (ALM), interest rate and liquidity risk management, investment portfolio oversight, hedging and derivatives, financial reporting, and strategic planning. This role is ideal for those with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial principles, investments, and banking operations. Success in this role involves cross-department collaboration to ensure sound financial decision-making and compliance with regulatory and policy guidelines.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Asset/Liability & Interest Rate Risk Management

• Assist in evaluating balance sheet strategies and their impact on risk, earnings, and capital.
• Prepare bi-weekly ALCO reports covering financial position and strategies.
• Support funding strategies to optimize liquidity, manage risk and oversee wholesale funding relationships.
• Assist in pricing strategies for deposit and loan products.

Investment & Derivative Portfolio Oversight

• Assist in managing bank's bond portfolio for credit quality, duration, and liquidity.
• Analyze and support derivative hedging strategies to mitigate interest rate risk.
• Monitor market trends and provide strategic investment recommendations.

Financial Reporting & Investor Relations

• Assist in quarterly financial reports and investor presentations.
• Develop financial reports for ALCO, senior leadership, and the board.

Data Management & Policy Oversight

• Analyze banking system data to support financial decision-making.
• Maintain policies and policy compliance related to Investment, ALM, and Liquidity Management.

Budgeting & Strategic Planning

• Assist in annual budgeting and long-term strategic planning.
• Evaluate financial projections and key financial drivers.

Requirements

Attributes and Abilities

• Strong understanding of U.S. fixed-income securities, interest rate risk, liquidity management, and derivatives.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to executives and stakeholders.

Experience and Skills

• 5+ years of experience in banking, corporate finance, or treasury management.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, & treasury risk management tools.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and data visualization software.

Education and Designations

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
• CFA or progress toward CFA preferred.
