Job Summary

A temporary part-time Research Technician position is available in the research laboratory of Dr. Frasier in the Department of Biomedical Sciences within Quillen College of Medicine. This individual will work on projects to understand the development of epilepsy following traumatic brain injury across animal models.

Employees are under general supervision. Work performed in assisting in various research projects, performing a variety of technical duties related to conducting standardized tests or experiments, and performing other related work as required.

All positions at East Tennessee State University are contingent upon sufficient funding. This position is contingent upon sufficient grant funding.

• Knowledge of basic laboratory methodology
• Knowledge of business English and arithmetic
• Ability to perform basic informational research projects
• Ability to gather and compile data

• Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public and other employees
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office - especially Excel

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous laboratory experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Two years of laboratory experience

Salary
$12 - $18 per hour based on experience
