Job Title Utility Worker Department Building Maintenance - 40310 Pay Grade 5 Job Category Support Staff Job Summary
The Facilities Department is looking to fill three (3) vacant positions.
Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in a variety of semi-skilled maintenance tasks including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and masonry, which may or may not be part of a training program; performing related work as required.
Must be able to work any shift or schedule. Overtime will be required as necessary.
Facilities employees may be required to report at their regularly scheduled times during emergency closures or during inclement weather to perform essential functions including snow removal duties.
A background check is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, and other maintenance work.
* Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
* Knowledge of tools and equipment used to perform tasks.
* Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
* Ability to use, clean, repair, and maintain equipment.
* Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
* Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees.
Required Qualifications
* Experience in general building and plant maintenance involving a variety of work such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and masonry.
* A valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications Salary $13.64 an hour
