**Indian Ridge Animal Hospital** has an exciting opportunity for a part-time **Kennel Attendant** to join our team! **Shift Details:** Part-Time position (less than 30 hours/week) - flexible schedule working Mon-Fri with shifts 7:20am-12:30pm, 12pm-6pm, and 8am-5pm. Rotating weekends required with shifts Sat 7am-12:30pm and Sun 8am-10am. **Ideal Qualifications:**

* Veterinary or animal industry experience preferred

* Must be comfortable working with cats and dogs, a variety of different breeds and sizes, barking and jumping, and anxious pets

* Must be adaptable, have a high standard of self, and a desire for continued learning

* Professional and poised demeanor with an energetic work ethic

* Excellent communication and customer service skills

* Ability to multitask, have a strong attention to detail, and function well under pressure while working with others in a team environment

Just remember to put a note on your resume letting us know why you want to join the veterinary field.* **Summary:** A Kennel Attendant provides daily care, feeding and exercise of boarding and hospitalized pets. They also pay close attention to pets' status such as signs of stress and changes in eating or elimination habits, promptly notifying technicians and veterinarians when a pet needs medical attention. Proper record documentation and accurate completion of boarding forms and cage cards is critical. A Kennel Attendant must pay close attention to details, understand and follow proper feeding and sanitation procedures and monitor boarding and hospitalized pets. **Primary Responsibilities:**

* Walking and cleaning patients, feeding, cleaning cages and hospital, and assist in restraint as needed.

* Will need to assist with answering clinic phones and fill in at the front desk as needed.

**Special Working Conditions:**

* To perform this job successfully it will be necessary to become proficient in the use of the practice management software.

* Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.

* Endure sitting, standing and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods

* Ability to be confident around pets.

* Able to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment that can be moderately high.

* Associate is routinely exposed to a variety of pets that may bite or scratch, and on occasion, exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards and medication/controlled substances.

* Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to perform successfully the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position.

* Must be able to exchange accurate information with all clients and team members.
